So a couple of weeks ago, as you may or may not know, I took the Book In A Week challenge and, in so doing, finished my book. YAY me!
I posted on First Edition about what I learned from the experience, but then realized I should probably post that info on this blog too.
So here's the top five things I learned about me:
1)I'm a medium speed writer.
2)I can pull all-nighters with great clarity.
3) I suck at first drafts, but thirds are alright.
4)I'm a plotster.
5)Writing daily is MUCH easier than I thought it would be. It's really just a habit you have to get yourself into.
And secret revelation number 6) I hate revising! I can't get myself to start.
I need some hard-core motivation! Anyone got any?

Kelly! Congrats on finishing a book. It's a huge deal and wow. How do you feel? I wish you man more books.
And you'll learn that you spend more time on revising a book than actually writing it.
But think of it this way... it's done. The story is there. You now have something to work with.
I'm good, actually great, at forth draft! LOL
Thanks Tiffany! I feel really good about being done with this draft and am looking forward to how much cleaner that fourth draft will be. So, fourth draft's a charm? Sounds good to me!
Yay third drafts! These are great realizations. :)
So, are you finished or headed into revisions?
rats, I should have read the other comments. :) Yay fourth drafts then!
Marnee!I'm headed into revisions. And it's ok. Third drafts are also good!
Congrats, Kelly! Finishing a book is a huge accomplishment - revel in that for a while and then worry about revisions!
Motivation... bribe yourself. Seriously. Pedicures, a new book, a movie, an ice cream sundae... whatever it takes. It's all about bribery!
Kelly, huge, huge, HUGE congratulations to you! You're a marvel, having the guts to get ino it and pulling it off successfully.
Thanks Sara and Keira! You two are so sweet.
